If you are building a menswear brand or expanding your wholesale line, you will meet two terms everywhere: OEM and ODM. Choosing wrong wastes money and time, so here is a practical comparison.

OEM starts from your drawing. ODM starts from a style that already exists and is customised to your brief.
With OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), you provide the design - tech pack, measurements, fabric, trims - and the factory produces it. Your brand label goes on the product.
With ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), the factory already has developed styles. You choose a base style and customize - fabric, color, logo, packaging. It is much faster because the pattern and fit are already proven.
Ask yourself three questions:
Most buyers we work with start with ODM styles to build volume and learn what their market wants, then move their best sellers to OEM production with their own label. This keeps risk low while building a real brand.
GBWHOLESALE supports both models across 16 menswear categories - tell us what you sell and we will suggest the right starting point.

Either route ends the same way: the specification is what the factory builds to, so it has to be written down.
